Where to Find Old Occult Texts

Books and articles on magick did not jump into being starting with the 1930s with Gerald Gardner's books on witchcraft. Occultism and magickal spiritual topics have long been explored in print. And these days with the internet at our disposal it's increasingly easier to find the old books in print and in electronic formats where before you had to be lucky enough to find them in dusty libraries scattered around the world.

Delving Deeper: Intermediate to Advanced Books for Wiccans and Witches

There is no question that there is a glut of books covering introductory material for Wiccans and Witches. What books cover intermediate to advanced topics? One way to get into intermediate to advanced study is to work from books such as Deborah Lipp's excellent The Study of Witchcraft (http://www.amazon.com/dp/1578634091?tag=witchgrotto-20 link_code=as3 creativeASIN=1578634091 creative=373489 camp=211189) (San Francisco: Weiser Books, 2007.) Another way is to pick your favourite introductory text and look at its recommended reading list or bibliography. Here's my own categorized list to help out seekers looking for something beyond the introductory.

Today the WitchGrotto website proudly presents another new feature: downloads! This is in addition to the recently added book reviews. The downloads section provides a selection of texts (mostly in PDF but a few as MS Word documents) of interest to those studying Paganism, witchcraft, and occult topics. The download system we are using allows you to download files one at a time, or you can select multiple files and have them downloaded in a single compressed ZIP file.
