It’s Okay to Pray in Your School

The school year has almost arrived. This seems like a good moment to revisit that continually confused and confusing issue, prayer in schools. There is a great deal of misinformation and misunderstanding of what kind of prayer is permitted in the public schools of the United States. So let me take this column to review what is and what is not allowed with regard to prayer in public schools.

Well, I wouldn't say that this really offers anything any different.

It just lets the government off the hook as far as prayer in school, if one only looks at that one sentence.

I am sure that everyone, students and faculty alike, say their own prayers, privately and silently, just like they have always done.

I don't believe there is really any revelation here. Mass prayers are still prohibited...just as they have been.

Old news presented in a different way.

Too bad, they had to waste space saying the same thing but in different words.

I agree that this article was really just repeating what everyone should know -- but I'm glad that it was repeated because it seems there are some out there in the school system (particular principals and teachers, sometimes whole school boards) who apparently just don't get it.

True, they just simply tend to overlook it.
