Dale Pendell's herbalism books 2008/03/14 20:57 Karma: 2
I recently got copies of two of Dale Pendell's herbalism books:

"Pharmako/Poeia" and "PharmakoDynamis"

There is a third one in the series, "PharmakoGnosis" which I've got on order from Amazon but haven't received yet.

Has anyone else read these and have any recommendations about them? Are they considered to be good or not? (Herbalism is not one of my strengths so I can't give an honest recommendation about the quality.)

The books, from the bit I've read of them so far, are quite engaging. They go into the history, uses, and folklore of various plants and plant products. They are works of art with excellent pictures used to illustrate the text with a very medieval or renaissance feel to everything.

Haven't heard of them, but will certainly ck them out. I have a fondness for herbs. I grow then and make herbal soaps, floral waters, and culinary herbal vinegars and oils for home use.
