This weekend my coven will be celebrating the Spring Equinox sabbat. We'll be doing our standard ritual which involves planting charged seeds in a pot of blessed soil. We have tried moonflower seeds in the past and I suspect we'll plant them again this year. (Moonflower is a variety of morning glory, but the flower opens up at night.)

Unfortunately we'll be holding our ritual indoors as the weather is decidedly un-Springlike. We're in the middle of a big snowstorm right now. It started last night and they are predicting it will continue through to this evening. The weekend is apparently going to have more snow falling on and off.

The temperature is not that bad despite the snow. When it does stop falling I suspect it will melt pretty quickly. We have had some really nice days this past week with most of the winter's accumulation of snow melting away. I even saw my first robins of the season just the other day. The Canada geese have started to show up at the lake behind our house in pairs. They are obviously starting the process of staking their claims where they want to start building nests. It's entertaining to watch them as the pairs jostle and strut to keep the other pairs away from their space.

It will be cool and dreary here they say. We have had some really warm days down here...tomatoes and corn will be coming in soon.

Canada geese live down here all year around, so they are nesting here too.
